Greetings to all venerable followers of the Jonangpa tradition, both within the homeland and across the world,
It is hereby announced that on the 15th day of the dark fortnight of the Tibetan Royal Year 2153, corresponding to May 1, 2026, on the auspicious occasion commemorating the original transmission of the glorious Kalachakra Tantra, and coinciding with the most blessed milestone of His Holiness The 14th Dalai Lama attaining the venerable age of ninety years: In observance of the “Year of Compassion”, proclaimed by the Central Tibetan Administration for the year beginning July 6, 2025, and with heartfelt prayers for the long, stable, and indestructible vajra-life of the Supreme Protector and Refuge of the Dharma and all sentient beings, the Jonangpa community—both in Tibet and in exile—will be honoured to offer a Tenshug (Long Life Offering Ceremony).
This sacred offering will include the Three Supports and a mandala offering, and will also mark the formal, in-person presentation of the distinguished “Jonang Taranatha Award”, as an expression of profound gratitude for His Holiness’s immeasurable kindness and incomparable contributions.
